2024 Cyber Predictions

Just as many kicks off the new year with ambitious resolutions, the cyber world buzzes with its own set of bold predictions. Big vendors tout their products with audacious claims, while security influencers echo similar sentiments. With no surprise this year is all about AI enabled threats. 2023 was a whirlwind of geopolitics and tech innovations. Now, 2024 is shaping up to match, if not surpass, this frenzy. With numerous elections ahead, we're poised to witness an intensified blend of cyber tactics and AI prowess. Time will tell if those predictions will come true but brace yourself - 2024 is set to be a rollercoaster of cyber and AI advancement. Stay tuned!

Why It Matters?

AI stands at the forefront of a significant transformation - a potent force reshaping not just cybersecurity but the entire tech landscape. AI's dual role is a marvel yet a concern: It can empower security teams while equally supercharging adversaries, elevating traditional threats. It’s one of the key things with the current AI model, they are based on existing data set as such most of the existing threats can be redeployed by an AI. Spearphising, malware creation, vulnerability identification, deep fake, etc. all of those existed before but now a targeted AI can create them at scale and with a very high-level accuracy. While we marvel at AI's capabilities, let's not overlook the basics. Yes, system inventories need to be complete, control coverage is key, and patching those vulnerabilities in time is as crucial as ever!
